Since his appointment in 2008 as Executive Officer of Panasonic Corporation, Mr Yoshiyuki Miyabe has been responsible for strategic planning and management for digital network & software technologies, and new business development.

Mr Miyabe is currently holding the position of Managing Director, Member of the Board, Panasonic Corporation, and Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for developing innovative technologies and new businesses in areas which include Digital Home, Energy Devices and Energy Solutions. Since his appointment as Executive Officer, Panasonic Corporation, in 2008, Mr Miyabe has been in charge of strategic planning and management for digital network and software technologies, and new business development. Prior to that, in 2003, he assumed the position of Director of Corporate R&D Strategy Office and R&D Academia Collaboration Center.

Mr Miyabe joined Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, Ltd. (now known as Panasonic Corporation) in 1983. He engaged in research and development of multimedia technologies such as hypermedia, digital cable TV and digital satellite broadcasting. Mr Miyabe received a Master of Engineering from Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, majoring in Communication Engineering. He enjoys travelling and watching football during his spare time.
