Mr Cameron Johnstone has conducted extensive research into and been involved in initiatives on ocean energy. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Nautricity Limited.
Mr Johnstone held the post of senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and is a director of the Energy Systems Research Unit, which was established in 1987 as a cross-discipline team concerned with new approaches to build environment energy demand reduction and the introduction of sustainable means of energy supply. Mr Johnstone has conducted extensive research into tidal power extraction focusing on flow analysis/ power transfer techniques and the development of control parameters for firm power delivery from multiple sites. He has investigated the performance optimization of tidal turbine systems to better facilitate power take-off and supply integration. Mr Johnstone is a member of the Energy Institute and is on the management team of the EU's Coordinated Action in Ocean Energy initiative and Equimarproject.
