Mr Hardiv Situmeang’s areas of expertise include long-term energy policy and planning; energy and climate change mitigation; carbon capture and storage; power system planning, operations and control; and project financing.

Mr Situmeang received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College, Schenectady, New York, USA. He also holds a D.Sc. degree in System Science and Mathematics from School of Engineering and Applied Science, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. In addition to being a member of Washington University’s External Advisory Board for the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering, Mr Situmeang is a member of the Indonesian Delegation for the COP (Conference of the Parties)/the CMP (Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol), and the Subsidiary Bodies of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), and was the former Planning Director and Senior Advisor to the Indonesia State Electricity Corporation (PLN).
