Mr Liu Yu has had significant experience working on power plant projects and energy management as a senior consultant in engineering.

Liu Yu obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Engineering from Tianjin University China and worked as a Production Engineer in the polypropylene plant of the Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Corporation for four years. After that, he moved to Singapore where he obtained his PhD in Process Optimization from the Chemical Engineering Department of the National University of Singapore. He joined ACTYS Process Management Consultants in 2006 and is now a Senior Consultant. The projects that he has worked on include power plant performance monitoring, energy audits of process plants and implementation of energy management systems in the refinery and petrochemical industries. The power plant projects (combined cycle plants and coal-fired power plants located in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia) on which he has worked have given him an in-depth knowledge of the range of performance monitoring practices amongst power plants in this region.
