Starting out his career as a lecturer on architecture, agronomy and science, Mr Saide has a strong and versatile academic background; with an undergraduate degree in Physics and an MBA on Renewable Energy at Beuty University in Germany. He has over 10 years of experience in the energy and renewable energy sectors, including heading different sec tors in the National Directorate of Energy in Maputo and sitting on numerous boards such as the Mozambique Energy Fund.

Mr. Saide also represented South Africa in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership International Board from 2009-2011 and was a key player in coordinating the development of renewable energy policies and biofuel strategies for Mozambique.

As the National Director of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy for almost a decade, Antonio O. Saide is an indispensable figure in Mozambique’s energy sector.
