Mr Khoo Hock Aun currently leads the Cosmo Biofuels Group/Ark Bio Sdn Bhd which is actively engaged in establishing integrated rubber, jatropha curcas and other oilseed plantations, biodiesel downstream processing and trading activities in the Asia Pacific region; promoting use of oil palm biomass for second generation biofuel and biofertiliser, including biogas capture for electricity generation.
He is Vice-Chair of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels and Treasurer of the Malaysian Society for Waste Management and Environment. He is active in developing algae projects through and other agricultural projects in South East Asia. He also provides consultancy and project development advisory in sustainable ecotourism.
Mr Khoo Hock Aun graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Agribusiness) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and was a Nuffield Foundation Study Fellow with the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He has managed a number of trade associations in both Malaysia and South East Asia.
