Toshio Okada assumed the post of Director/Senior Energy Advisor of Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in August 2014, with responsible for the overview and analysis of international energy situation for the organization, reflecting extensive overseas experiences.
Prior to this post, he spent 30 years at the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), formerly known as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), where he held executive level and other positions including Chief Executive Director of Japan External Trade Organization San Francisco office, Director of the Recycling Promotion Division, Director of the Emerging Industries Promotion Division, and International Coordinator for Environment at the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy, to name a few. He also held the post of First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Brazil.
