Dejan R. Ostojic leads the World Bank energy practice in the East Asia and Pacific Region which is responsible for the investment portfolio of more than US$5 billion, covering projects in power generation, transmission and distribution, energy efficiency and access to modern energy.
Dr. Ostojic has diverse experience in energy and infrastructure development in Europe and Central Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Latin America and USA. Currently, his main focus is on the World Bank energy program in Southeast Asia, including policy dialog, sector reforms, investment operations, and institutional development and capacity building in Myanmar.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Dr. Ostojic was an Area Manager in Harza Engineering Company in Chicago, USA, visiting Fulbright Scholar at Purdue University, USA, and Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. He has authored/ co-authored more than 30 technical papers and three books in the field of energy and power systems. Dr. Ostojic holds Dipl.Ing, MSc. and Ph.D degrees in electrical (power system) engineering. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and member of the US National Committee of CIGRE.
