Laurent Maillefer was appointed as head of ABB’s Solar Power Conversion business in South East Asia on June 1, 2015 and is directly responsible for the business across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, and has oversight of the development in other ASEAN countries.

After joining ABB in 1998, Laurent has held a range of positions in field service, operations and sales. Beginning his career as a project engineer in Switzerland, he moved on to become a commissioning engineer before taking on a management role as an Area Sales Manager in charge of China, Mongolia and Taiwan from 2002 to 2004. Finding his stride, Laurent then rose to the challenge of global operations for Local Engineering Centers across ABB, before taking on a greater leadership role as the head of the Marketing and Sales for Asia Pacific. Laurent is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Laurent holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole d'Ingénieurs de l'Etat de Vaud (Engineering School of Vaud), in Yverdon, Switzerland, and speaks five languages including French, German and Bahasa Malaysia.
