Peter Bird is an experienced adviser in the energy and infrastructure sector. He is currently a senior adviser to Rothschild's global financial advisory business in South East Asia, and was previously co-head of this business. He also has senior advisory roles with an energy and infrastructure-focused private equity fund and with Lantau Group, an economics and strategy consultancy.
He is a non-executive director of Vector Limited, the listed infrastructure network company in Auckland, New Zealand; and of Infraco Asia, another PIDG Facility. He was previously a founder director of Infraco Africa, also a PIDG Facility.
Before joining Rothschild in 1990, he worked as an economic consultant with Coopers and Lybrand, as an economic researcher in the oil and nuclear sectors, and as an academic economist at Stirling University. He has an PhD from Cambridge and has authored over 30 articles in peer-reviewed economics journals.
