Energy Market Authority
Dr. Alvin Yeo is the Director (Industry Development) at the Energy Market Authority.
In his current role, Alvin is responsible for catalysing research innovation and deepening manpower capabilities for Singapore’s energy sector. His department steers a portfolio of R&D and demonstration projects in areas such as micro-grids, energy storage and gas for a future-ready, resilient power system. To nurture a competitive Singapore-core workforce, his team introduced sector-wide manpower attraction and development initiatives such as the Energy Industry Scholarship, National Energy Competency Framework and the SkillsFuture Study Award for the Power Sector. Alvin participated in The Straits Times Future Economy Roundtable on Energy in July 2016.
Prior to that, he assumed management responsibilities at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and the Overseas Union Bank.
A recipient of two Singapore Ministry of Education’s ASEAN Scholarships, Alvin possesses a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Western Australia, a MBA (Distinction) and a finance degree from the NUS Business School. He is currently a member of the Singapore Polytechnic’s School of Engineering Advisory Committee.
