GE Power Indonesia
David Hutagalung is currently GE’s Country Director for its Power business in Indonesia, a position he took on in September 2016. David is responsible for the development of an overall strategy for the power business in Indonesia, including a capture/closure strategy on key defined transactions, and coordinate with the P&L Sales Leaders and Sales Teams in the regions.
Just prior to this current role, David was GE Indonesia’s Director for Government Affairs and Policy. He was GE Transportation’s Regional Sales Director for the ASEAN region from 2010 to 2014. Concurrently he was also assigned to the role of President Director of PT GE Operations Indonesia, GE’s wholly owned local entity in Indonesia. In 2010 David held the position of GE Energy Services’ Policy and Government Relations Director for ASEAN.
David started his career with GE in 2007 as its Market Development Director for GE Indonesia. In this role, David was tasked to help all GE businesses in Indonesia grow and to build strong and enduring relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, business circles, and the media.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from University of Indonesia in Jakarta. He earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., USA. David sits on the advisory board of GE Volunteers Council, Indonesia Chapter. He also sits on the Board of American Alumni for Education (AAE) and Chairman of the Power Committee of AmCham Indonesia.
