Joe Keen Poon has a proven track record in senior leadership roles across Asia & Europe. He has successfully led organizations, from start-ups, to turning around very large and mature businesses in Asia.
Currently Joe guides Surbana Jurong, the world’s consultancy powerhouse for urbanisation and infrastructure developments, to fulfil its mission of building cities and shaping lives by delivering world leading smart city solutions.
Earlier, he has led Xchanging’s, a top Business Process Outsourcing firm, P&L & commercial success in the East Asia & Japan market as President.
Prior to that, Joe spent 9 years at Microsoft. He was the winner of 3 top awards (Circle of Excellence, Champions Award, Worldwide IW Sales & Marketing Award). In his last role, he was in the executive team as the Segment Director, OEM Business in Singapore. In that role, Joe leads Microsoft’s success in not just the flagship Windows, Office & Server businesses, and also the growth of emerging mobile devices business.
Prior to that, Joe led several businesses for Microsoft across Asia & Greater China. He also held consulting and business development roles in leading organizations like Deloitte Consulting in London and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.
He was also the winner of the Public Service Commission scholarship from the Singapore Government in 1990.
Joe is married with 2 kids, Ian (12years old) and Ky-Shan (10 years old). A competitive kayaker in his younger days, Joe now stays fit by dedicating his free time to the gym and X country running.
