名古屋商科大学大学院で教鞭をとるとともに、エス・オー・シー株式会社特別顧問(在東京:ヒューズメーカー)、フェアコートキャピタル会長(在ロンドン)、エリオンハウス戦略委員会メンバー(在シンガポール)として、実業に携わっている。 外交官試験合格後、外務省へ。その後、経済産業省に移籍し、エネルギー関係ポストを経て、パリの国際エネルギー機関(IEA)局長を務める。 エネルギー・気候変動分野を中心に、ダボス会議初め多くの国際会議に出席し、産油国、エネルギー関連企業、機関投資家など、内外に幅広いネットワークを持つ。世界経済フォーラムのグローバル・アジェンダ・カウンシルにも所属。
Tatsuo Masuda is visiting professor at the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business Graduate School on energy-climate nexus. He also serves as special advisor to SOC Corporation (fuse manufacturer) in Tokyo, chairman of FairCourt Capital in London and strategic committee member of Elion House in Singapore.
After joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as career diplomat, he moved to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry where he assumed various energy-related posts. He also served as director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris.
He speaks on energy and climate change at various international conferences including those by the World Economic Forum. Currently, he is strongly interested in a new dimension of energy and climate policies, and contributes to the World Economic Forum as member of the Global Agenda Council on Decarbonizing Energy.
