Mrs. LI Jun is the Deputy Director General of Economic &Technology Research Institute, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO). Prior to joining GEIDCO, Mrs. Li has served as the Vice Chief Engineer at State Power Economic Research Institute, State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), which ranks the 2nd place in Global Fortune 500.
As one of the leading experts of power grid planning in China, Mrs. Li’s research directions vary from UHV grid planning, power system economic analysis to power grid planning theory and mechanisms and etc. Her new role in GEIDCO focuses on energy transition and power grid interconnectivity both intra-continentally and inter-continentally. Her engagement in GEIDCO’s Asia-Europe-Africa, Asia, South America and Africa power grid interconnection studies creates far-reaching impacts to the international communities.
Over the years, she is the recipient of numerous awards for her prominent research findings including Award for Outstanding Engineering Consulting Achievement of Chinese Power Industry and Science and Technology Progress Award from SGCC.
Mrs. Li received her BSc and MSc degrees from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.
