Mr Ng Wai Choong has been the Chief Executive of Energy Market Authority since April 2015. He joined the Singapore Administrative Service in 1991 after graduating from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1990. He also attended the Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development in 2001, and the INSEAD Advanced Management Program in 2012.
He was the Deputy Secretary (Policy) in the Ministry of Finance from 2007 to March 2015 overseeing government revenue, expenditure and investment policies.
Before that, he was the Deputy Secretary (Industry) in the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) from 2003 to 2007, and was concurrently the first Chief Executive of the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) from 2005 to 2006.
He was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2006 and the Long Service Medal in 2014.
He is married with a son.
