Norman Lee graduated from Imperial College, University of London in 1980 with a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering and M.Sc. in Advanced Chemical Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK), a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Singapore and a Singapore Certified Energy Manager.
After a 24 years career in the refining industry, Norman left Shell in 2001 to start his Process Management Consultancy company (ACTSYS) to provide consultancy services for performance monitoring and energy optimization of refineries, power plants and petrochemical complexes. Actsys is today one of the few established energy service companies in Singapore that serves the process industries.
A council member in the Institute of Engineers Singapore, he also chairs the Energy Technical Committee and also the Chemical & Process Engineering Technical Committee. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Standards Council Environment & Resources Standards Committee.
