Dr. Bambang Susantono is Vice-President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development at ADB, responsible for providing strategic knowledge direction, flagship publications and operational research. This covers investments across energy, transport, urban, agriculture and rural, water, finance, education and health sectors that mainstream issues regarding climate, environment, regional cooperation, social development, governance, public private partnerships and gender.
Prior to this, Dr. Susantono was the Acting Minister, and Vice-Minister of Transportation of Indonesia, and Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development at the Office of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. He chaired research institutes and taught in universities, and was a Member of the Board for airline, port, telecommunications and media companies.
Dr. Susantono holds a PhD in Infrastructure Planning, and has Master’s degrees in Transportation Engineering, and City and Regional Planning from the University of California Berkeley. His Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is from the Bandung Institute of Technology.
