van Li joined HSBC in May 2015 and is Regional Head of Utilities and Alternative Energy and HK/China Conglomerates Research. He is a top-ranked analyst, voted best for utilities research in the Asiamoney regional broker poll for 2016-18 and second-best in 2015. In 2014, he was voted as one of the two best for public utilities research in the Institutional Investor All-China survey. Evan began his career at a Big Four accounting firm, where he was involved in auditing, corporate finance and IT consulting. He became an equity analyst in 2007 and has worked at a number of leading global investment banks, covering utilities and renewable energy. He has a BBA degree in information systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds the CPA and CGMA designations.
