Hannah E. Murdock is senior Project Manager and Analyst in the REN21 Research Direction Team, coordinating REN21’s flagship annual report – the Renewables Global Status Report. The next edition, GSR 2020, will mark seven years of her working on the report. She also coordinates REN21’s work on policy and transport, and contributes to the organisation’s other principal reports, namely the Renewables in Cities Global Status Report, the Regional Status Report series, and the Global Futures Report series.

She has led data collection efforts for the United Nations Environment 1Gigaton Coalition and co-authored the chapter on the status of renewable energy and energy efficiency policy in the Coalition’s annual publication. She has authored, co-authored, and contributed to several other publications, including co-authoring the renewable energy chapter in the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report (produced by SLoCaT), and authoring the introductory chapter of Renewable Energy Policies in a Time of Transition (jointly produced by IEA, IRENA, and REN21). She has also served as Teaching Assistant in the International Energy programme at the SciencesPo Paris School of International Affairs and guest lectures at other universities.

Prior to coming to Paris, Ms Murdock was Special Projects Coordinator for Research and Operations in the University of North Texas Office of Sustainability, where she was responsible for research, planning, and analysis on broad sustainability initiatives. She holds master’s degrees in International Energy from the SciencesPo Paris School of International Affairs, and in Public Administration from the University of North Texas.
