James Chong is a Managing Director in Accenture Digital and the Centre Director for Accenture’s Resources Innovation Hub in Singapore.

James helps clients in the Resources industry apply Digital capabilities to transform themselves to better solve business challenges and find opportunities for new business models and revenue streams.

He focuses on the conceptualization, design and implementation of Digital-related strategies and solutions for the Utilities, Oil and Gas, Petrochem, Forestry, and Palm Oil industries. These strategies and solutions relate to Consumer and Enterprise spaces, for Employees, Dealers and Business Partners, in the Field Force, Retail and Consumer settings. They cover IOT devices such as remote sensors, and mobility, analytics which derive business and actionable insights for descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and visualization capabilities such as dashboards, AR/VR and 3D renderings. They encompass both structured and unstructured data sources such as images from drones, weather predictions and IOT sensors to solve challenges related to the areas of Assets, Operations, Workforce and Safety.

James graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BEng) from the University of Surrey, UK, and holds three patents related to media, IOT communications and workforce safety prediction. He is a DIY auto mechanic, specializing in Saab 900 Turbos between 1986 and 1994.
