Matthew Friedman is Chief Digital Officer of Sembcorp Industries. His focus is on driving business growth through the digitalisation of business operations and processes. He also drives innovation through technology and technology investments at Sembcorp, and oversees the company’s efforts to build a secure technical and digital environment.

Mr Friedman has over two decades’ experience in the technology industry. Prior to joining Sembcorp, he spent 16 years at IBM, where he was responsible for leading a team of over 500 people and delivered over US$5 billion in annual revenue by helping leading global and regional technology companies digitise their service delivery and solution platforms. Mr Friedman also previously co-founded a successful management consulting firm, which became MarchFirst, one of the largest web integrators in the world in the late 1990s.

Mr Friedman received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Economics (Honours) from Skidmore College, USA and completed the Senior Leadership Program at Harvard Business School, USA.
