Nawaz Peerbocus is the Director of Energy Transitions and Electric Power at KAPSAR in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. KAPSARC is a non-profit global institution for independent research into the economics of energy. KAPSARC works collaboratively with international research centers, public policy organizations, industry and government to facilitate effective policy development.

At KAPSARC, Nawaz leads a team of international researchers to better understand the economic and financial impacts of energy transitions, including the impacts on the power sector and the role of the power sector in these transitions. The research aims to provide policymakers, industry leaders and decision-makers with independent and unbiased information for effective strategy and policy development.

Nawaz Peerbocus was previously the Chief Economist of the Saudi Electricity Company where he led the strategic transformation initiative and advised on strategy development and long-term planning issues. Nawaz has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics from the University of Toronto and is currently a Master of Sustainability Leadership student at the University of Cambridge.
