Paul Maguire is the President & Regional Chief Executive Officer at ENGIE Asia-Pacific. He manages ENGIE’s operations and development of low CO2 power generation, gas infrastructure and client solutions in the Asia-Pacific perimeter. Paul oversaw the exit of ENGIE from coal-fired generation (~8,000MW over 3 years) in the Asia-Pacific and continues to grow ENGIE’s presence in the region towards a more decentralised, increasingly digital, carbon neutral economy.
Prior to ENGIE-Asia Pacific, Paul was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Senoko Energy, where he drove commercial performance of the business and led the company towards a long-term sustainable business strategy. During that period, Paul was a member of the Singapore Institute of Power and Gas Advisory Council, Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the World Energy Council (Singapore Chapter).
Paul has extensive experience with various utility businesses in Australia, having served as the Chief Executive Officer of Simply Energy (retail arm of ENGIE in Australia), Finance Director for ENGIE Australia, Director at Energy Retailers Association of Australia and held senior management positions at Southern Hydro Pty Ltd and City West Water Ltd.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Victoria University and a Master of Business Administration from RMIT University.
