Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow became Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Minister of Energy in August 2020. Apart from overseeing Thailand’s energy sector, he is also tasked with formulating key economic policies to revive the Thai economy.

Prior to his current role, he was Chief Executive Officer and President at PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC). He had enjoyed a successful career at both leading petroleum companies and financial institutions in Thailand. Under his leadership, PTTGC was ranked first in the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Moreover, PTTGC has been ranked among the top 10 companies within the global chemical sector for the past seven years.

Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA degree from Chulalongkorn University. In addition, he also completed an Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
