Tharinya is currently working as the Energy Analyst, Senior Officer at Modeling Policy and Planning, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Jakarta, Indonesia. ACE is an intergovernmental organisation endorsed by ten ASEAN Member States (AMS) interests in strengthening energy profile of ASEAN.

Tharinya is the lead energy modelling team and Chief Editor of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6), the flagship study of ASEAN Centre for Energy which will be launched in the 38th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) in 2020. She is the lead author of the Levelised Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for various renewable energy technologies in ASEAN, RE assessment for Cambodia, and the co-author of Mapping R&D on renewable energy technologies and policies in ASEAN. These were the highlight publications launched in 2019. In addition, she is also involving in stakeholder coordination such as Dialogue partners, International Organisation, ASEAN Focal points, and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency & Conservation Sub-Sector Network meeting. She was invited as a panelist at Roundtable Discussion ASEAN Energy Business and other events.

During her Doctoral study and Postdoc in National Central University, she applied an energy-economic models, namely Input-Output (IO) analysis, to the evaluate of energy and emission policies for Thailand. She was mentoring graduate students who conducting research related to Vietnam’s energy and economic sectors. As confirmation of the impact of her work, she has 3 publications in international journal and 5 conference papers.
