U Khin Maung Win, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Electricity and Energy, was born in Myaungmya on 19th June 1958, from the parents of U Hla Thin (father) and Daw Kyin Pwint (mother). He was graduated from Rangoon Institute of Technology in 1981 majoring in mechanical engineering and started his career life as an assistant engineer at Baluchaung No.2 Hydropower Station from 7th January 1985 to 21st February 1995. And then, he was transferred to Hlawgar Gas Turbine Power Station, and he was promoted to the Assistant Executive Engineer on 19th December 1995.
He had served as the Executive Engineer (Power Station Superintendent) at Thaton Gas Turbine Power Station from 3rd August 2000 to 18th December 2005, afterward he was assigned as the project manager for the 230 kV Transmission Line Project. And then, he served as the director for Mechanical & Electrical Installation Branch, Department of Hydropower Implementation from 1st June 2006 to 20th August 2008 and afterward he was transferred to Baluchaung No. 2 Hydropower Station as the power station superintendent.
On 7th July 2009, he was transferred to head office of Hydropower Generation Enterprise, and he was promoted to the general manager on 10th September 2009, Two years later, in 2011, he was promoted to the Managing Director and he had served up to 19th June 2019. And then, he served as the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy as per the announcement of 43/ 2019 of the President Office on 31st October 2019.
