Education and career
| 1980 | Graduated from College of Economics, Aoyama Gakuin University. Served as Secretary to Mr. KAIFU Toshiki, a member of the House of Representatives. |
| 1989 | Served as Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister (Cabinet Secretariat Researcher). |
| 1994 | First elected as a member of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly (following this, reelected six times consecutively). |
| 2007 | Served as Chairman, Association of Members of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan. |
| 2009-2010 | Served as Secretary-General, LDP in Aichi Prefecture. |
| 2012 | First elected as a member of the House of Representatives (Aichi 9th District). (Re-elected in 2014, 2017. Now serving his 3rd term) |
