Dr. Hongliang Yang is currently working as a Principal Investment Operation Specialist in the Infrastructure Investment Department, Region 2, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). He has been working on energy for more than 25 years, covering project engineering, investment financing and policy research. Before joining AIIB, he had worked for Asian Development Bank in East Asia region and South Asia region as a Senior Energy Specialist. Since joining AIIB in 2016, he has designed and processed several first-of-the-kind projects, including AIIB’s first-ever standalone project, first non-sovereign corporate loan, and first project approved by the President under AIIB’s Accountability Mechanism. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK.
