Matthias Deutsch is a Programme Lead at Agora Energiewende and concentrates on power and heat sector coupling, as well as on storage. From 2007 to 2015, he worked as a consultant at Prognos AG, focusing on renewable energy, energy demand, gas grid development and statistical analyses, with his clients including companies, industry associations and governmental authorities. Prior to working for Prognos, he has been employed at the Hertie School of Governance and the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin. He is a graduate engineer in environmental technology (Berlin University of Technology) and holds a Ph.D. in policy studies from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, USA.
