Mrs. Ngo To Nhien graduated in Engineer of Informatics Electronics, Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam; Master of Science in Sustainable Energy System and Management, University of Flensburg, Germany. She got educated on Sustainable Energy Management and Planning at Aalborg University, Denmark; Energy Management and Clean Production for SMEs at the University of Twente, Netherlands. In 2012, she was the first Vietnamese to receive an honorary fellowship from the International Climate Protection Program sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Ms. Nhien has more than 25 years working on diferent science and sustainable energy system. She regularly contributes science papers at international conferences on renewable energy development and climate protection. She is currently working as Executive Director of the Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition (VIET).

Since 1993, she has experience working on international projects funded by development partners in Vietnam. She acts as an independent consultant for the Renewable Energy Development Project funded by the WB (2013-2017), in this project she contributed to developing the RE policy mechanism and renewable energy potential mapping on wind, solar, biomass energy and hydropower for Vietnam. She also works as an independent consultant for the European Union (EU) to the founding of the Vietnam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG), and other research activities such as conducting research on renewable energy law, auction mechanism, energy subsidies in Vietnam (WB, 2016 - 2017), analyze the potential for collaboration with Vietnam in implementing the Super-ESCO concept for Public EE (EU, 2019). She used to be an independent energy expert participating in the design and evaluation of projects funded by development partners (UNIDO, UNDP, GEF, WB).
