The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg is the Sixth Premier of Sarawak.

He has been in the public service for 41 years since his first election to the Sarawak’s State Legislative Assembly in 1981.

He has held various ministerial portfolios, notably the Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Housing and Urbanisation and Ministry of Tourism.

Currently, he also holds the portfolios for Finance and New Economy, Natural Resources and Urban Development and Energy and Environmental Sustainability.

The thrust of his administration lies in the development of a green economy and sustainability as envisioned under Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030). Under his forward-looking leadership, Sarawak has been a notable proponent of green hydrogen in the energy transition initiative, the Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) solution, carbon trading and research in the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from algae.
