Bob S. Effendi

Bob S. Effendi. (59), was born in Jakarta 11 Speteptember 1964. a seasoned energy professional. He was educated in the as Computer Engineer in University of Bridgeport in 1988 then began his career as a computer/electrical engineer in the US, transitioning in 1992 to a remarkable journey in the energy sector. Over three decades, he ascended from an engineer to top management, spanning diverse fields from oil/gas services to coal mining and nuclear energy After retiring from fossil industries in 2013, he embarked on a new path as an independent clean energy consultant, subsequently becoming a strong advocate for nuclear energy.

In 2015, he assumed a pivotal role as the Thorcon Chief Representative in Indonesia, proposing for development and construction of a 500 MW Thorium Molten Salt Reactor Power Plant. From 2017 to 2019, he contributed significantly as a member of the energy working group within The National Committee of Economic and Industries (KEIN), operating under the Office of The President of Indonesia, where he played a key role in shaping energy policy.

His career pinnacle occurred in 2021 when he assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer at PT Thorcon Power Indonesia, a trailblazing nuclear company in Indonesia. His leadership paved the way for the acceptance of nuclear power by the government, marking a significant policy shift. Bob possesses an extensive network in the energy sector, earning the respect and recognition of his peers. He stands as Indonesia's foremost nuclear proponent and consultant.
