Anish De

Anish De serves as KPMG’s Global Head for Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals (ENRC). He has over 25 years of experience in energy sector consulting. As an acclaimed energy sector expert, Anish has undertaken pioneering work in sector reform and restructuring, designing sectorial policy and regulatory framework; strategic planning, economic analysis; investment frameworks; corporate strategies, turnaround plans, institutional strengthening, energy markets; smart grids and digital solutions.

Anish has been a regular contributor to the Economic Times, CNBC, Powerline and other business and trade publications, especially on matters related to the energy transition, climate mitigation and adaption and technology developments in the digital economy, energy storage, hydrogen and renewables. He has also been a member of several governmental task forces and committees on energy. In his current role Anish connects closely with UN Organizations and MDBs, IEA, IRENA and other key agencies on energy and climate matters.

Anish is a trusted advisor for corporates and governments. He founded the South Asia business of Mercados EMI in 2008, a boutique European energy consulting company. KPMG in India acquired the firm in 2014, whereafter he took over as the leader for the energy and infrastructure consulting practice. Since 2017 Anish has led the ENRC sector for KPMG in India and created a successful profile and market presence and has led Global ENRC since August 2022. ENRich, KPMG India’s acclaimed energy and resources event, has pivoted to become a global conference of repute. He has also founded ENRich Labs as a quarterly innovation and co-creation platform with stakeholders. ENRich Labs is currently focused on accelerating the energy transition through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI as a priority theme.
