Ms Cindy Wee Mei Mei is appointed as the next Singapore Consul-General at the Singapore Consulate-General in Guangzhou in December 2024. Prior to this, she was the Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister-Counsellor at the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C. from 2019 to 2024.

Ms Wee joined the Singapore Foreign Service in 2001. She has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, covering Americas, ASEAN, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia. She served as Deputy Director-General for Americas Directorate in 2019, Deputy Director-General for Southeast Asia II Directorate from 2018 to 2019, as well as Deputy Director-General for Northeast Asia Directorate from 2017 to 2018 and 2024.

Her overseas assignments include serving as Deputy Trade Representative at the Singapore Trade Office in Taipei from 2010 to 2014, as First Secretary (Political) at the Singapore Embassy in Beijing in 2007, and as Deputy Consul-General and Consul at the Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai from 2004 to 2007.

Ms Wee studied at Peking University under the prestigious Singapore Public Service Commission Overseas Scholarship from 1994 to 1998. She subsequently obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with Distinction from Nanyang Technological University in 1999.
