Mr. Holmqvist is the President of SKB International and a senior international expert in nuclear waste management and final disposal with a career spanning nearly three decades. His expertise covers the full strategic lifecycle of disposal programmes, from expert technical assessments to high-level corporate and project management. He entered the Swedish nuclear waste programme in 1998 as a consultant to SKB, holding several key management and expert roles. Since joining SKB International in 2007, he has accumulated extensive global experience, advising national programmes worldwide on the distinct challenges of different development stages. In his executive role as President, he now leads the organization's worldwide consulting operations and strategic partnerships. Mr. Holmqvist holds an MSc in Geohydrology from Uppsala University, pairing technical and scientific rigour with long-standing international executive experience.
