On October 28th and 29th, Asia's energy leaders and financial decision-makers, including Kim Yin Wong from Singapore Power, Neil McGregor from Temasek, and Anthony Jude from Asian Development Bank, will gather in Singapore at the launch of the Asian Energy Financial and Investment Conference, organized by Edison Electric Institute (EEI), during Singapore International Energy Week 2014 (SIEW).
EEI is the association representing U.S. shareholder-owned utilities, whose members own and operate 70% of the U.S. electricity market and have an asset base of $1 trillion (USD), as well as 70 international members across 45 countries. EEI has held "must-attend" financial conferences in the U.S. for almost 50 years and in London since 1999.
SIEW (www.siew.sg) draws 10,000 delegates, including numerous heads of state, ministerial-level officials, and top executives by bringing together the world's leading conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and networking events from across the energy spectrum in one week and in one location. Our partnership with SIEW makes EEI's Asian Energy Financial and Investment Conference a premier platform to discuss energy financial and investment issues, strategies, and solutions.
This Conference generates value through two critical components:
- Investor Relations: Asian investors, analysts, bankers, and rating agencies will meet formally and informally with C-level executives and heads of IR from the energy industry. Formal company presentations to investors and analysts will be scheduled and many companies will host private meetings with current and potential investors.
- Knowledge Transfer: Panels and keynote speakers will present their perspectives and outlooks on Asian energy markets. Panelists include leaders from Temasek, KPMG, Deloitte, ADB, Morgan Stanley, Standard Chartered, Citi, EY, Standard and Poor's, the Lantau Group, SembCorp, and Wartsila.
Delegates will hear industry experts discuss the financial and investment impacts of:
- Asian LNG and Shale Gas: Panacea or Pipe-Dream?
- The Future of Coal in Asia: Balancing Demand and Climate
- Market Reform and Rate-Making: An End to Subsidies?
- Risk: The New Frontier in the Asian Energy Markets
- The Road to Asian Renewables
- Overcoming Barriers to Financing and Securing Funding
- Indonesia: Will it Reach its Energy Potential?
The Conference is supported by the Government of Singapore, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Standard and Poor's, Marsh, Black and Veatch, AES Corporation, Navigant, SunEdison, the International Finance Corporation, the Asian Development Bank, the Independent Power Producers Forum, Bloomberg, and Platts.
Conference attendees are also invited to the prestigious Platts Top 250 Asia Awards Dinner on October 28th at the Fullerton Hotel. The Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings® will be unveiled at this time, with over 300 global energy executives present.
