Singapore Energy Summit (SES) is qualified for 4 PDUs by PEB

11:00 - 12:30 hrs Session 1: Asia’s New Energy Realities
+

Faced with lower energy prices and continued growth in energy demand, Asia’s need to increase and diversify the region’s energy supplies remains more important than ever. Renewables continue to play an important role in the energy mix. This session will explore the new energy realities Asia faces and the implications on energy security for the region.

12:30 - 14:15 hrs Lunch Plenary: A World Awash in Oil & Gas – What’s Next?
+

The oversupply of oil is set to remain in global markets, with energy prices expected to remain lower for longer. Cheaper oil means producers need to squeeze the value out of every last drop. Production needs to be smarter by leveraging on new technology to cut costs to remain efficient and nimble.  This session will explore the implications and how the industry will adapt.

14:15 - 15:15 hrs Session 2: Building a Low-Carbon Future
+

While lower oil & gas prices present increased competition for renewables, the global consensus on climate change has placed greater emphasis on sustainable energy.  This session will explore the impact of lower energy prices on our transition to a more sustainable future, and the impact on the overall energy mix.

15:30 - 16:30 hrs Session 3: Disruptive Technologies and the Energy Consumer
+

Innovative technologies have placed the consumer at the heart of the utility business. The development of smart energy infrastructure and the growth of distributed energy generation are changing how utility players think about grid structure and the business of generation, distribution and consumption. This session will discuss the re-orientation of businesses around the consumer, as well as the evolution of regulations and retail markets.

16:30 - 17:15 hrs In Focus: Energy Financing - Bridging the Gap
+

Current energy prices have prompted some players to defer investments in infrastructure projects. At the same time, there is still a need to develop critical infrastructure to meet Asia’s growing energy demand.  This panel will discuss how these developments impact how we finance a more sustainable energy future.
