Ranjit Lamech is the Regional Director for Infrastructure for the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Region at the World Bank - a position he assumed in mid-2019. In this capacity, he manages the World Bank's energy and transport investments and advisory programs, comprising loan commitments in excess of US$10 billion, with a team of over 100 professionals based in a dozen countries in the EAP region. He was the Director for the Energy and Extractives Global Practice from 2016. Over the last quarter-century, he has held a range of management and technical positions in the World Bank's energy practice - shaping and implementing the World Bank's policy direction in energy sector reform, regional integration and financing approaches to scale-up investments in clean energy. He began his energy career with Tata Power in Bombay, India. He holds master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, and public administration from Harvard University. Ranjit is based in Washington, DC.
