With Asia’s energy demand rising rapidly, there is an increasing need to explore energy connections within and outside of Asia to open new market opportunities and advance regional connectivity projects in power, oil and gas sectors. The panel will examine energy connectivity in terms of energy trading, electricity imports/exports, collaborative purchasing of LNG, and cross-border infrastructure financing.

Energy leaders are tasked with choosing between competing fuel choices such as gas, coal, renewables and nuclear to meet our future energy needs. However, the task of determining the ideal fuel mix is a balancing act. It requires both public and private sectors to factor in economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, as more policies gear themselves towards diversity to ensure security energy leaders need to determine the optimal balance between their fuel choices and manage the potential trade-offs.
