Wrap-up: An Inspiring Day 4

Day 4 of SIEW 2023 was a day filled with enriching discussions and inspiring exchange of ideas, all aligned with our ongoing mission to drive the energy transition. Experts from various fields shared their insights and experiences at the first of the SIEW Thinktank Roundtables taking place today.

In addition to the roundtables, we also successfully concluded our partner events — Asia Clean Energy Summit, Future of the Grid, and the Asian Downstream Summit & Asian Refining Technology Conference. These events have brought together key players in the energy industry to explore the latest trends and advancements.

SIEW Thinktank Roundtable: Charting the Path for South and SE Asia's Energy Transition Ahead of COP28

Discussions on how South and Southeast Asia's energy transition should be addressed at the upcoming COP28.

The Atlantic Council and the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ) recently hosted a roundtable where energy experts gathered to discuss the energy transition and lay the groundwork for an action plan in preparation for COP28. This is particularly important because the region's average energy demand is expected to triple by 2050, presenting significant challenges in both meeting energy demand and transitioning to cleaner sources. Singapore’s Energy Journey Captured in a Drone Light Show at SIEW 2023

If you missed the live broadcast of the drone light show over Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, here are the highlights.

As part of SIEW 2023, 500 drones flew over Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade for a special drone light show. Witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the drones took audiences through formations depicting Singapore’s energy journey.

In a first-ever for SIEW, the drones formed icons representing key elements of Singapore’s energy transition from LNG and renewables to low carbon alternatives and a regional power grid, emphasising the important pillars in Singapore’s energy transition towards a net zero world.
